Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks to SRNS.
  • Structural engineering tasks include:
    • Analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs
    • Design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures
    • Foundation and anchorage design
    • Structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions
    • Preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents
    • Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.
    • Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

Education and Licensure

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD.
  • Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details

  • Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is preferred.
  • Previous experience working at SRS.
  • Preferred PE license.
  • Duration of the Contract: 1 year, (2) 1 year option periods
  • Mon-Thurs 6:45a - 5:15p
  • Projects Supported: General Design Engineering business.
  • Onsite or Remote? Onsite. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
