Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll conduct detailed inspections using NDE methods such as leak testing and liquid penetrant testing, interpreting results and applying acceptance criteria from drawings and work orders. You will perform welding inspections to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, evaluate weld quality, monitor welding and brazing processes, and confirm welder qualifications. You’ll also ensure that all NDE and welding systems, processes, and documentation align with industry and internal requirements while helping drive continuous improvement. Additionally, you will review engineering drawings, specifications, and codes to validate product conformity and maintain accurate records for fabrication, inspection, and final reporting. This role includes managing nonconformance documentation, supporting internal process audits, and collaborating with engineers and managers to communicate inspection results. You’ll also provide training on inspection techniques, maintain an organized and safe work area, and support other quality‑related activities as needed.

  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.

  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.

  • CWI Certification
  • Level II certifications in liquid penetrant (PT) and leak testing (LT)
  • Documented experience in NDE methods
  • 3+ years of NDE inspection experience.
  • Strong understanding of weld codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with mechanical drawings and related technical writing.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details

  • Active Q Clearance.
  • Experience with GD&T and Dimensional Inspections
  • NQA-1 and/or DOE related experience.
  • Onsite position – Oak Ridge, TN
  • Position will be initial W2 contract with conversion and/or extension options.
