Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position provides planning of work week activities under the Work Control Program, which is utilized to plan and execute maintenance of plant equipment and construction activities in a safe, regulatory compliant, and efficient manner.  The Work Control Program is designed to maximize schedule stability, while allowing the flexibility to manage emergent equipment failures.  The objective of Work Control is to integrate the inter-group efforts necessary to maximize safety, system reliability and overall plant efficiency, thereby maximizing plant production.  This is accomplished through a structured planning and review process, which utilizes input from numerous site organizations.  The Work Week Planner (WWP) guides the Work Control planning process by coordinating with representatives from all organizations necessary to safely conduct work activities at the site.  The primary responsibility of the WWP is to function as the single-point-of-contact for all issues and activities associated with the designated work week.  This entails performing inter-group coordination, providing an interface with management, and addressing specific issues that arise.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The WWP works within the Work Control process and is responsible for development of the necessary planning products to support the program. The WWP implements policies, procedures and checks for current training of all personnel performing work.  The position performs Work Week Scheduling and also acts as Applications Administrator for our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements and company policy.
  • The WWP owns the Work Week Plan and authorizes all changes to the week’s scope for the execution week and the three weeks prior to execution week.  The WWP reviews the Work Week Plan, ensuring it can be successfully executed, and gains approval from the Maintenance Manager.  The review includes validation of necessary logic ties, verification that Preventive Maintenance activities are scheduled and completed according to program requirements, and ensuring the schedule is appropriately levelized.
  • The WWP functions as the single-point-of-contact during execution week.  The WWP maintains/controls the “big picture” of all activities occurring during the week.  The WWP also closely monitors all facility impairments to ensure work is performed as scheduled and therefore returning the plant to full operation as soon as possible.
  • The WWP serves as the central point of contact for the Daily Plan of the Day Meeting and Weekly Work Planning Meeting.  The WWP compiles requests for Emergent and Routine work.  In addition, the WWP assists in the performance of post-work week critique of significant evolutions.  The WWP will develops, publishes and presents performance indicators for the work week.
  • The WWP ensures traceability control of critical system components, monitors any vendor-managed inventories and coordinate with plant shipping and receiving activities.
  • The WWP performs the function of the Applications Administrator for the plant Maintenance and Scheduling software applications.  This includes controlling data consistency and integrity, tracking of preventive maintenance activities in support of regulatory compliance requirements, and administration of Predictive, Preventive, and Corrective maintenance activities.
  • The WWP is responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities performed in a high-quality, cost-efficient manner, ensuring budgetary compliance for the organization.
