Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our environmental site investigation or due diligence practice in Seattle, Washington.  This position offers the opportunity to leverage both academic knowledge and practical experience in addressing environmental due diligence and regulatory compliance issues for a diverse range of national private and public sector clients, while developing key business skills essential for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historical research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Supporting environmental compliance services, such as compliance audits and reviews (multi-media).
  • Supporting site characterization and remediation projects.
  • Fieldwork such as soil, vapor/air, surface water, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation system O&M.
  • Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Developing task, project, and client management skills.
  • Data evaluation, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
  • Support preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. 

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, chemistry, biology, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Prior research experience in environmental contamination and remediation. (preferred)
  • Occasional field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and associated on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

 

  • Minimum: $28.54/hour / Maximum: $37.48/hour or Minimum Salary: $77,968.80/year / Maximum Salary: $92,350/year (Seattle, WA)
