Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing multi-media environmental compliance services, such as day-to-day environmental guidance to clients and supporting environmental compliance auditing.
  • Preparing environmental compliance reports, including annual air emissions inventory reports, hazardous waste generator’s reports, SARA 312 Tier II reports, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports, air permit summary of monitoring and compliance certifications and similar reports.
  • Preparing environmental Plans such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3s) and Slug Discharge Control Plans.
  • Preparing environmental Permit Applications for industrial wastewater and industrial stormwater discharges, and air emissions sources.
  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historical research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Ordering, receiving and reviewing database reports in support of Phase I ESA projects
  • Scheduling, coordinating and conducting site visits for Phase I ESA projects
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
  • Developing task, project, and client management skills
  • Actively contributing to the company-wide efforts to gain more environmental / EHS compliance services and advancing the practice.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree (M.S.) in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.). (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of environmental compliance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

 

  • Minimum Salary: $92,835/year / Maximum Salary: $137,950/year (Oak Brook, IL)
