Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing written plans and permit applications associated with state and federal programs for industrial stormwater discharges and oil pollution prevention (e.g., Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans).
  • Performing routine site visits to support clients with construction stormwater and SPCC compliance.
  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historical research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Ordering, receiving and reviewing database reports in support of Phase I ESA projects.
  • Scheduling, coordinating and conducting site visits for Phase I ESA projects.
  • Supporting stormwater management, site characterization and remediation projects.
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Developing task, project, and client management skills.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering.  (required)
  • Advanced degree (M.S.) in a related field. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar professional certification in your field, or currently working towards certification. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance, assessments, and plan development. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products. (required) 
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
