Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee task and project management functions, including the planning and execution of investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and financial oversight, adherence to schedules and quality standards, client satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Lead and manage contaminated site assessments and remedy evaluations, encompassing the preparation of investigation work plans, design analyses, feasibility studies, treatability studies, removal action work plans, remedy design, and implementation.
  • Scope, execute, and deliver multiple concurrent projects and assignments effectively.
  • Develop remediation action plans for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation initiatives, including the creation of drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, plans, and proposals.
  • Direct data quality, data management, and technical discipline teams in the preparation of plans and reports.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, as well as manage subcontractors.
  • Ensure project delivery meets contract schedules, applicable codes and regulations, regulatory requirements, and industry standard-of-care criteria.
  • Organize and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Support lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring activities, in alignment with the company's sell-manage-do business model.
  • Perform fieldwork such as multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor supervision, and operation, maintenance, and construction of remediation systems.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.  

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or a related subject. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain within two years. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) 
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred) 
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. 
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred)
