Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing multi-media environmental compliance services, such as environmental compliance auditing.
  • Providing health and safety compliance services, such as compliance auditing.
  • Preparing environmental Permit applications for industrial wastewater and industrial stormwater discharges, and air emissions sources.
  • Preparing environmental compliance reports, including annual air emissions inventory reports, hazardous waste generator’s reports, SARA 312 Tier II reports, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports, air permit summary of monitoring and compliance certifications and similar reports.
  • Preparing environmental Plans such as Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Slug Discharge Control Plans.
  • Supporting litigation projects in the above areas.
  • Contributing to, and preferably leading, the preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, specifications and proposals.
  • Managing projects from proposal development including cost estimating, winning the project, efficiently executing the project to the client’s satisfaction and profitably.
  • Actively contributing to the company-wide efforts to gain more environmental / EHS compliance services and advancing the practice.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree (M.S.) in a related field. (preferred)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Professional Engineer (P.E.), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar professional certification in your field. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least seven (7) years of experience working in an environmental consulting or manufacturing or industrial EHS or environmental department, with a working knowledge of industrial processes, and their impacts to the environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance and/or EHS audits. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products. (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
