Staff Environmental Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Geoscientist, Environmental Engineer or Environmental Scientist in our environmental sciences and engineering practice in our Houston, Texas office, you will apply your academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment & remediation, groundwater management, water treatment, and environmental due diligence for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

• Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
• Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
• Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
• Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
• Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
• Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
• Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals. 
• Fieldwork: Up to 50%
• Overnight travel: Up to 30%

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, geology or related degree. (required)
• Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)

• Technical experience in geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines. (preferred)
• Experience with construction work such as plumbing, electrical, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical tasks. (valuable)
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred)
• Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
• Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
• Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred) 
• Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
