Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Project Analyst in our Portland, OR, Houston, TX, Boca Raton, FL, Kennesaw, GA office or from any of our other U.S. based offices with the potential to work a hybrid schedule or remotely from your home-office at the discretion of the Company. As a Project Analyst you will be responsible for performing various administrative and reporting functions to ensure that procedures and practices are followed in accordance with company policy and contractual obligations. Working alongside Project Managers and Department Leads you will guide them to better understand the financial aspects of their projects.  Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, facilitating, streamlining, and other project document or department-related processes to ensure efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

• Interface with Project Administrator and Project Manager to ensure compliance with contract administration obligations.
• Prepare proposal and project setups, client and subcontractor contracts follow up, employee expense reports preliminary review, and associated administration, typically for larger and more complex projects.
• Prepare subcontractor bid/quote requests for proposals and projects for action by and approval of the Project Manager.
• Maintain subcontractor files and track associated invoices to ensure prompt processing and payment.
• Perform preliminary review of pre-bills and draft progress reports for invoicing, for final review by and approval of the Project Manager.
• Monitor and track budgets in consultation with the Project Manager and prepare change orders.
• Running ad-hoc reporting for business development.
• Serve as liaison with clients’ accounts payable department staff to ensure that proper procedures regarding invoicing have been followed to minimize a delay in prompt payment of invoices, and work with Project Manager to resolve problems.
• Interact with and serve as liaison between other departments, branches, subcontractors, agencies, staff and clients with regards to project matters, as requested by the Project Manager.
  • Collect, prepare and perform an initial analysis of the following data for review by the Project Manager:
  • Complex analysis of cost and schedule variances;
  • Progress data and review of performance trends;
  • Labor hours and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations; and
  • Actual cost to funding limitations.
  • Project earned value.

• A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 to 5 years (7+ preferred) years of experience in project administration and invoicing, preferably in a professional services firm, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. (required)
• Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel – Pivot Tables, Queries, Formulas.
• Experience with pulling large data sets and presenting them in an easily understandable format to leadership.
• Experience with federal contracts, will be able to assist Project Administrators with questions on federal projects.
• Experience with federal cost proposal pricing, including direct and indirect rates. Prior experience assisting proposal teams with federal bids.
• Experience working cross functionally with external (JV partners, subcontractors, vendors etc.) and internal departments.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of data entry techniques. (required)
• Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, contracts and subcontract agreements, correspondence and memoranda. (required)
• Ability to effectively write moderately complex correspondence and memoranda. (required)
• Ability to effectively present information to Project Managers, and other internal clients. (required)
• Ability to interact professionally and maintain cooperative professional relationships with management and colleagues. (required)
• Valid U.S. drivers license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
