Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Career Remediation Scientist supporting our environmental sciences and engineering practice in our Milwaukee, WI office.  The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment & remediation, groundwater management, water treatment, and environmental due diligence for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

• Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
• Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
• Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
• Data analysis, including coordination with other staff members to prepare maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
• Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
• Review and manage written document production;
• Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
• Conduct fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
• Direct multi-disciplinary project teams;
• Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
• Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
• Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field. (required)
• Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
• Professional registration. (i.e., P.G. or P.E.) (preferred)

• At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
• Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (preferred)
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
• Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations. (preferred)
• Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
