Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Water Resources/Hydraulics Professional in our Los Angeles, CA office. The position will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge on complex civil, stormwater, and water resources projects involving planning, design, analyses, computational fluid dynamics modeling, and hydrological and hydraulic modeling, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, analysis, and calculations
  • Scripting workflows / model outputs
  • Preparation of technical reports (e.g., modeling and analyses reports)

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering, or related field. (Strongly preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Prior internship experience in consulting. (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (required)
  • Courses in computational methods. (preferred)
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python). (required)
  • Proficiency in computational fluid dynamics. (preferred)
  • Proficiency in hydrology and hydraulics modeling. (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD and 3D modeling. (preferred)
  • Proficiency in GIS. (preferred)
  • Regular field work (10%) and overnight travel (5%). (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

 

  • Minimum: $66,560/year / Maximum: $104,230/year or Minimum: $27.45/hour / Maximum: $32.00/hour (Los Angeles, CA)
