Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Global Materials Compliance and Product Stewardship Professional in Columbia, MD or Washington D.C. The option to work (hybrid/remotely) from your home office at the company's discretion is also available. Help us grow our Global Product Stewardship and compliance practice and participate in client development activities. You must have a strong background in product hazard assessment, regulatory compliance, and chemical and product registration, as well as an entrepreneurial attitude, and enthusiasm for supporting business development and technical efforts to expand Geosyntec’s market share. The successful candidate will have a background in international and domestic regulatory programs such as REACH, GHS, FHSA and TSCA, FIFRA and/or FDA compliance programs, as well as a background in hazard and risk evaluations related to exposure and due diligence.  Our client base includes a diverse mix of industrial, institutional, and governmental clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support client goals and projects related to domestic and international materials and chemical product registration, safety and compliance, and related risk and liability issues including transactional due diligence.
  • Support client needs related to REACH, GHS, FHSA, TSCA and FIFRA programs as well as global raw material management and product supply chain compliance.
  • Provide technical support to multiple projects and project teams within the scope/budget/schedule expectations, ensuring the highest quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to repeat business.
  • Assist Project Managers with management of technical tasks and project-related budget and financial tracking.
  • Support project teams and initiatives related to environment, health, and safety compliance for multiple industrial client groups; and,
  • Support developing business opportunities with new and existing clients and preparing associated proposals.
  • Fieldwork and overnight travel may occasionally also be necessary.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, toxicology, environmental engineering, other applicable related degree. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental science, chemistry, toxicology, environmental engineering, other applicable related degree. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years in regulatory programs such as REACH, GHS, FHSA, US FDA and TSCA; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of GHS compliance requirements, raw materials and product supply chain compliance, or related practices experience. (required)
  • Working knowledge of relevant international, federal, and state regulatory programs (e.g., REACH, RoHS, FIFRA, FHSA, TSCA, FDA, Prop 65). (required).  Experience with the International Uniform Chemical Information database (IUCLID) is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting teams on multiple complex product registration, safety and compliance, GHS compliance, regulatory auditing or related projects. (required).   Experience leading new chemical, product or pesticide registrations is a plus. 
  • Experience related to industrial hygiene characterizations and assessment, consumer product label requirements and EHS consulting and client support. (preferred)
  • Experience in supporting multiple complex product registration, safety and compliance, GHS compliance, or related projects. (required)
  • Experience supporting the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $74,900/year / Maximum Salary: $116,485 /year (Columbia, MD)
  • Minimum Salary: $78,465/year / Maximum Salary: $122,040/year (Washington D.C)
