Geosyntec’s Boca Raton, Florida office is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator. In this role you will perform responsible and confidential accounting duties relating to the processing of payroll. This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor. A hybrid work schedule will be available for this position after initial training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the assistance with the following:

  • Payroll services assistance including processing payroll in its entirety for U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico when needed (pre/post payroll activities).
  • Preparation and/or review of international payroll files when needed.
  • Data entry into existing excel reports or the payroll system.
  • Online reporting to third party workers compensation websites.
  • Calculation of retroactive pay.
  • Provide payroll support to internal clients.
  • Federal Express matching.
  • Assist with multi-state employee tracking.
  • Assist with employment verification requests.
  • Assist with certified payroll requests.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two (2) years of payroll and accounting experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. (required)
  • Experience with payroll software and intermediate Microsoft Office Word and Excel knowledge (formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP).
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal clients.
  • Ability to add, subtract and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
