Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Health and Safety Professional based out of our Acton, Massachusetts office to help support our growing geoenvironmental practice. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance projects, while developing the technical and business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data analysis of site investigation data including the preparation of data tables, maps, and figures using both industry-standard and cutting-edge applications;
  • Preparation of written documents such as proposals, workplans, and investigative reports;
  • Assist in developing written EHS compliance programs, procedures, policies, and plans for multiple clients in the private and public sectors;
  • Assist in the review, development, and deployment of environmental permit application submittals;
  • Support clients in identifying and mitigating health and safety hazards and issues related to their business, as well as conforming to applicable federal /state/ provincial /local requirements and industry best practices;
  • Monitoring, fieldwork, and oversight of site characterization, remediation, and environmental construction projects;
  • Work with minimal supervision to accomplish an assignment with clearly defined boundaries and objectives; and
  • Fieldwork and overnight travel will also be necessary.
  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and potentially medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.  
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 50%

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, industrial hygiene, public health, environmental science, environmental engineering, biology or other related degree. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated strong interest in EHS compliance
  • EHS compliance/research experience including  environmental monitoring, sampling, and analysis (preferred)
  • Experience in geo-statistical analysis of environmental data (preferred)
  • Experience planning and conducting EHS site investigation (preferred)
  • Experience conducting environmental compliance site assessments (preferred)
  • Experience planning and performing EHS compliance audits and gap assessments for Federal/State/local regulations  (preferred)
  • Strong oral and technical writing (required)
  • Fluency in communications in Korean (required)
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel. (required) 
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
