Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Environmental Engineer as part of our process engineering and design practice in our Lakewood, Colorado office.  The position will apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to process engineering and water and wastewater treatment for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process engineering and design;
  • Prepare cost estimates for water and wastewater projects;
  • Data entry and analysis;
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications and proposals;
  • Water, wastewater, and soil remedy evaluations, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Fieldwork such as site inspections, water, wastewater, and soil sampling, treatment/remediation system design, drilling and contractor oversight, construction support services, and operations and maintenance (25%);
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Environmental regulatory compliance services and permitting; and
  • Data analysis and management, including databases, preparing drawings, maps, tables, and figures.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (preferred)
  • Prior research experience in designing, conducting, and evaluating the results of laboratory treatability studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel and other database and statistical analysis software (preferred)
  • Experience with specialized process engineering software such as InfoWater, BioWin, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD and/or AutoCAD. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $64,485/year / Maximum Salary: $80,605/year (Lakewood, CO)
