In this role, you will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals throughout the U.S. and will provide leadership and client development specifically in water resources, water supply reliability, planning, and regulatory compliance for clients primarily within the Water Sector. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You will also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with possible staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. 

Some of the key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Leading and managing water supply analyses pertaining to local and imported water, groundwater banking, water transfers, and demand management projects;
  • Managing multiple projects within the scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables;
  • Managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management;
  • Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to repeat business;
  • Developing business opportunities with new and existing clients and preparing associated proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA/MSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 5%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 5%

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, water resources, environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or another applicable related degree. (required)
  • Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.). (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience (10+ years preferred) in the water resources field in the United States, preferably in the Southwest U.S.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience in water supply, water conservation, and analyses pertaining to local and imported water supply, groundwater banking, and demand management. (required)
  • Experience managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel on a limited basis. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

 

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $120,265/year / Maximum Salary: $205,190/year (Los Angeles)
