Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing/Proposal Specialist for our Columbia, MD office.  The position will be responsible for working with technical leads and marketing teams. Develop compliant, comprehensive, and compelling submittals (proposals and opportunity-specific statements of qualifications (SOQs)) on a regional or corporate level in order to win profitable work. Responsible for managing, scheduling, editing, and producing proposals, opportunity-related SOQs, project descriptions, resumes, and other marketing materials

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Proposals and SOQs:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the competitive proposal preparation - from initial planning through delivery.
  • Review and hone messages/win themes within written and visual information for client presentations;
  • Draft content such as introduction, win themes, proof statements, relevant experience, project teams/organizational charts;
  • In partnership with marketing managers/teams and subject matter experts, develop qualification, proposal, and presentation messaging and content;
  • Overall responsibility for proposal/SOQ criteria and compliance, oversee production, and arrange for on-time deliveries;
  • Develop scheduling and tracking systems for individual pursuit and proposal elements and be responsible for distribution & receiving input from key technical leads and decision makers;
  • Track business development opportunities via Client Relationship Management system (CRM).

Marketing Campaigns, Collateral and Client Outreach

  • Support the planning and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns and coordinate internal de-briefing meetings to discuss their performance;
  • Work with technical leads on improving targeted client relationships/tracking needs and market growth initiatives;
  • Identify areas where creation/refresh of branding/marketing materials is needed such as flyers, brochures, and statements of qualifications to support targeted business development efforts;
  • Help to lead technical teams and corporate marketing to initiate and maintain web-based/social media branding and marketing campaigns for the branch and region; coordinate cross-region to leverage materials and resources
  • Oversee staff in managing routine marketing collateral (e.g., keeping key task schedules on-track, and resumes and project descriptions up to date);
  • Develop branded presentations with targeted messaging;
  • Create/approve news announcements for internal and external postings;
  • Work closely w/ Branch technical and marketing teams to develop plans that align with the company’s Strategic Plan (i.e., overall goals and objectives)
  • Under guidance from Branch technical and marketing teams, conduct targeted market research to understand preferences of target audiences, drivers/competitors/opportunities
  • Manage awards competition entries; ensure compliance with award requirements; and
  • Analyze research data related to clients; competitors; past, current, and prospective markets; present findings to leadership.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Formatting, writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail. (required)
  • Advanced computer literacy using MS applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) (required) and Desktop Publishing Software (Adobe Suite, including Acrobat, InDesign) (preferred)
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. (required)
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to perform effectively under tight deadlines. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $87,310/year / Maximum Salary: $139,695/year (Columbia, MD)
