Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading data management efforts on projects, including preparing analyses and visualizations using GIS applications, and developing and maintaining environmental databases;
  • Business development; including developing niche services, bringing in new internal and external clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing technical scope on projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Task and project-level responsibility for performing, managing, reviewing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and communicating analyses;
  • Contribute to sections of reports and proposals and author speeches, presentations, technical articles, and correspondence with limited need for revision, reorganization, or editing during the peer/senior review process;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • Direct multi-disciplinary project teams;
  • Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring;
  • Contribute to the development of industry best practices that support the continual improvement of quality and efficiency of information management services to technical staff and project teams; and
  • Find and implement new software platforms and/or internal processes that add value to projects and new capabilities to our technical offering.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geography, computer science, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Advanced proficiency in use of accepted technical software, including Earthsoft EQuIS and/or ESRI ArcGIS and supporting multidisciplinary project teams with data management and analysis services. (required)
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams in the environmental consulting industry. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of internal and external clients. (required)
  • Proven leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
