We are seeking a Senior Practice Leader – Environmental Remediation in Knoxville, TN to help us grow our practice and manage client development, and who is interested in being a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including conceptual site model development, regulatory interpretation, and remediation strategy development and implementation. This position supports the creation and implementation of new strategies by providing strategic solutions to our clients’ most complex problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks. 

 

  • Developing remedial strategies and site-specific closure strategies;
  • Performing remediation alternatives analysis, feasibility studies and technology selection, remedy implementation cost benefit analysis, and reserve estimating;
  • Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to repeat business;
  • Managing challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management;
  • Managing and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred) geology, or related sciences field (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G., etc.) (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 10 years (15+ years preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience in conceptual site model development, regulatory interpretation, and remediation strategy development and implementation; (required)
  • Experience managing the overall delivery of projects including, project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management. (required)
  • Experience building multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
